Getting Started

2 articles

Desktop interface overview and initial account setup.

Agoric Wallet is a desktop interface for the decentralized Agoric network, available for Windows, macOS and Linux. It presents account information, digital assets and application requests.

The desktop interface presents requests for explicit authorization. Validators on the decentralized Agoric network validate and execute authorized transactions.

Open Agoric Wallet from the operating system applications list and complete setup within the desktop application.

If setup provides recovery information, record it offline and restrict access. Never enter recovery information into a website, chat or email.

Review the portfolio, activity and application connections before authorizing a request.

Download and Installation

3 articles

Desktop installation, application launch and version management.

Select Windows, macOS or Linux in the Downloads section on the Homepage. The current desktop release is 3.2.5.

Obtain the installer through the Downloads section on the Homepage. Follow the installation prompts provided by the operating system.

Review operating system security prompts. Cancel installation if the source cannot be verified.

Launch App requests that the browser open the Agoric Wallet desktop application installed on the current computer.

If launch cannot be confirmed, the dialog provides access to Downloads and Search Again. Launch App does not install software.

Network

3 articles

Decentralized network architecture, BLD and interchain execution.

Agoric is a decentralized Proof-of-Stake Layer 1 built with the Cosmos SDK. Distributed validators maintain consensus, JavaScript smart contracts execute applications, and IBC enables interchain communication.

Agoric Wallet presents account information and requests for authorization. The network validates and executes authorized transactions. Access to network functions depends on the capabilities supported by the application.

BLD is the native staking token of the Agoric network. Delegated stake supports validator consensus, and BLD stakers participate in on-chain governance.

Staking and governance operate at the network level. Access through a wallet interface depends on the functions supported by that software.

IBC (Inter-Blockchain Communication) enables independent chains to exchange verifiable messages and transfer assets.

Agoric Orchestration enables smart contracts to coordinate multi-step execution across connected chains. Applications implement these workflows on the network; the desktop wallet presents requests requiring user authorization.

Transactions

3 articles

Transaction review, destination verification and activity status.

Before authorization, verify the action, asset, amount, complete destination address and network fee.

Reject the request if any detail differs from the intended transaction. Verify the source before initiating a new request.

Verify every character of the full destination address. Clipboard malware may substitute an address that resembles the intended recipient.

For a new recipient, consider a small test transfer and confirm receipt before sending a larger amount.

Confirmation time varies with network conditions. Check the transaction status in the activity view before resubmitting.

Repeated submission may result in duplicate transactions. Confirm the existing request status before taking further action.

Application Permissions

2 articles

Connection requests, permission scope and access management.

Application connection requests should identify the application and its requested scope of access. Verify the application name, website address and permission details.

Connect only to applications recognized and intended for use. A connection does not replace transaction authorization; review each transaction request separately.

Review connected applications regularly and remove unused connections.

Remove connections authorized in error and reject subsequent requests from the affected application.

Security

3 articles

Request verification, software integrity and recovery protection.

Never disclose recovery information to support. Treat requests for this information as attempted theft.

Verify domain spelling and treat urgency, unsolicited rewards and uninitiated approval requests as warning signs.

Store recovery information offline with restricted access. Avoid photographs, cloud notes and disclosure to third parties.

Access to recovery information may allow control of the associated assets.

Obtain Agoric Wallet through the Downloads section on the Homepage. Avoid installer links distributed through advertisements, direct messages or unverified forums.

If the operating system displays an installer warning, suspend installation and verify the source before continuing.

Troubleshooting

2 articles

Guidance for installation errors and application launch issues.

Confirm that Agoric Wallet is installed on the current computer, then select Search Again.

After installation, open the application directly from the operating system before retrying Launch App.

Restart the computer and retry. Confirm that the installed release matches version 3.2.5 in the Downloads section on the Homepage.

If the issue persists, reinstall using the Downloads section on the Homepage. Secure recovery information before reinstalling the application.

FAQ

Answers to frequently asked questions about the desktop application and support tools.

Agoric Wallet is distributed for Windows, macOS and Linux. The website and documentation are accessible through mobile browsers; they do not replace the desktop application.

Ymax is a separate interchain DeFi application in the Agoric ecosystem. Its automation and execution functions belong to Ymax and are not desktop wallet features.

Support does not request recovery information. Treat any such request as attempted theft.

The support chat is an automated documentation assistant that runs locally in the browser. It retrieves guidance from the same articles used by the Support page.
